Body image and self esteem

Positive body Image occurs when you are able to accept, appreciate and respect your body. Positive body image can make you more resilient to the development of an eating disorder.

It is common for teenagers to feel increasingly uncomfortable with their bodies as changes occur during adolescence. However, low self-esteem can develop when expectations of how you want your body to look don’t match up to reality. These types of feelings can lead to distorted thoughts and emotions about your body.

If you feel dissatisfied with your body or are developing unhealthy eating or exercise habits, it’s important to seek professional help or talk to a trusted adult.
