Student leadership

In addition to the core business of developing students' literacy and numeracy skills a good school ensures they also become active and informed citizens. Riverside girls are expected to be articulate; to have an opinion and express this clearly – on world issues, the charities our school will support or their study pattern.

Development of self expression occurs in the nurturing class environment or through participation in groups such as:

Student Representative Council (SRC)

The Student Representative Council provides opportunities to demonstrate leadership skills.

This student elected body sustains a positive school culture. It’s teams, the School Spirit, Environment, Sports and Performance Teams conduct activities where students can voice their opinions.

The Amnesty Group

Raises awareness of global issues surrounding human rights, they regularly present at school assemblies encouraging students to broaden their understanding of the importance of fairness, freedom or speech and lack of prejudice.
