Riverside Girls High School is pleased to be able to offer to successful students an opportunity to be a part of our High Potential and Gifted Education Program for Year 7, 2024.

This is a wonderful chance to be a part of an enriched environment for gifted and academically talented students who are grouped together and provided with stimulating intellectual challenges. A variety of opportunities are provided both in the classroom and through extra-curricular activities.

The High Potential and Gifted Education Program exam

Held on: Saturday 17 June 2023 8:20am to 12:30pm
Held at: Riverside Girls High School Hall
Cost: $75
Register for the examination (registrations close Monday 5 June 2023)

Entry Criteria:

Entry into the program is based on academic merit. Academic merit is determined by:

  1. Academic Placement Test results encompassing:
    1. Reasoning and problem solving
    2. Reading comprehension
    3. Mathematics
    4. Written expression
  2. Student School Report (Year 5, 2022/Year 6 2023) and most recent NAPLAN results, if available.
  3. Student Learning Portfolio (which includes a piece of creative writing, copies of documentation showing special talents, special awards, academic competitions etc) and a current photograph.

Applicants:

  • Must be Australian citizens or entitled to study in Australia.
  • Students from non-government primary schools may also apply.
