This week, we had another great assembly. A speech was given by Ms. Mihailou about the Korean Exchange Programme and many Riversidian students received service awards for buddying up with our wonderful Korean students. Great suggestions were given by the Korean students to improve our school such as having an interior café. We will surely work on that. Paris C and Jacinta S were the chairpeople for this week’s assembly. A Yr 8 student from Riverside named Elly P, entered a competition in yr 7 called the ABC's 'Where I live competition'. She not only entered this competition but also won a prize. To read about this more click here.
Ms. Burgman, a geography teacher also provided information about Yr 7, 8, 9 and 10 incursions + excursions. An upcoming camp for Yr 10 will derive in term 2 where all the students will be participating in the refugee challenge.
Ms. Piech another teacher at Riverside talked about the safety procedures in case of emergencies such as an evacuation or a lockdown. An evacuation alarm sounds like a siren where you must leave the school and a Lockdown alarm sounds like a truck reversing where you must stay in your classes hidden.
The zone swimming carnival will be held on the 8th of March 2019. Good Luck to all the competitors. O Harris placed 1st in the swimming carnival. Mallinson came 2nd. Coen placed 3rd with and McKenzie was announced 4th.
Ms. Kelly gave the Principals address and 3 students got acknowledged in front of everyone. One of them was Ell B who received a silver award and Isa H and Allisa L received a sports award too.
