Year 11 attended the shape exhibition at MAAS powerhouse museum. The day started with a seminar given by Kristen Lewis, a structural design engineer. In her lecture, she talked about the design projects she has taken apart in, with the most notable being an installation in central park, and creating a sculpture for sculptures by the sea. Next, was the industry lab in which many designers showcased their work through interactive activities, we saw game creators and comic book designers. We also had the chance to experiment with using different mediums such as 3D printing. The second seminar was run by UTS and it went through the features that make a good design, as well as this we saw many examples of products made by UTS students. To end the day we got the opportunity to look through the previous years major works and portfolios. This allowed us to get inspiration and gave us examples of how to construct a portfolio.
We would like to pay our respects and acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land and also pay respect to Elders both past and present.
