On Friday 30 November, Year 9 Commerce joined with Year 7 English in setting up stalls and selling goods and services to the school community during Year 7's Shakespeare performances. This year our focus was on entrepreneurship. We had a range of business ideas, selling food and drinks, Christmas treats, gifts and entertainment items. Services included photography and event management. Feedback after the event from Year 9 included "you can’t accurately predict the actions of a large mass of people", "being spontaneous and going with the flow is significant in all the madness that is the event", "there is a lot of effort in running a business", "a lot goes on behind the scenes", "it is a really fun and interesting night", "it helped me understand the little and big things you may not see in running a business", "it helped as to what I may want to do when I’m older". Having an authentic audience of parents and friends added to the learning experience. All money raised will be donated to a charity chosen by Year 9 Commerce. We look forward to working with English next year!
